Office Support Assistant
Job Description
This position is responsible for answering incoming calls, providing accurate information, taking messages, greeting visitors, and providing administrative support to office personnel
Duties and Responsibilities:
- Answer, screen, or forward calls, provide accurate information, take messages, or schedule appointments
- Back-up scale clerk as needed
- Greet persons entering establishment, determine nature and purpose of visit, and direct or escort them to specific destinations
- Perform administrative support tasks, including filing, photocopies, preparing mail, running errands as needed and keeping paper stocked in the printing room
- Support operations by monitoring daily order label printing and effectively troubleshooting office equipment
- Conducts new hire orientation; to include presenting video training on safety and other required topics and ensuring new hire documents are accurately completed
- Plans, schedules and presents bi-weekly safety training to plant employees using available resources
- Cross-training of various office positions may be required

- Regular attendance
- Normal office environment and use of hand and fingers to perform and complete written documents and enter data in computer systems
- Light lifting required to move records, files, and supplies of approximately 10-15 lbs
Working Conditions
- Normal office environment. Most work performed is sedentary at a desk, using a computer, phone, and other office equipment
Minimum Qualifications
- High School diploma or equivalent to at least 12 years of general education PLUS at least 2 years’ experience in an office environment preferred
- Excellent customer service skills are required
- An equivalent combination of experience and training may be considered
